A mother from Mali has miraculously given birth to nine babies. 25 year old, Halima Cisse thought she was carrying seven babies (if that wasn’t enough) before the surprise was revealed during a tense c-section op.
Despite being born at just 30 weeks, all nine babies are doing well and weigh just 1kg each, n’awww. The media reports their mother is also in a stable condition.
Nonuplets are extremely rare and there are often problems following birth for both the mother and her babies.
When doctors discovered that Halima was expecting nonuplets, it was decided that she would need specialist care and so authorities flew her to Morocco, where she gave birth.
The private Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca confirmed she gave birth there.
Speaking about the nine tiny miracles, Mali’s health minister said, “The newborns (five girls and four boys) and the mother are all doing well.”
