Put A Smile On Their Faces
The top 12 DreamToys list is the UK’s most authoritative list of which toys are the hottest for each Christmas period. It is selected by a panel of retail industry experts and is made independently from toy manufactures and brands.
Put simply, it’s the toys your kids want this Christmas.
The top 12 list for 2020 includes classic kids brands that have brought enjoyment to kids over Christmas for generations. Brands such as Barbie, Monopoly, Star Wars, Lego and Harry Potter. And with prices ranging from £6.99 up to £79.99, there’s something to suit all budgets.
Research has shown that during lockdown, while many people have been working from home, toys, board games and puzzles have provided a constant source of joy for children and adults alike.
A survey done by The Retailers Association of 2,000 parents found that 56% of parents have spent more time with their children during lockdown. And 88% of those parents surveyed, said that playing with toys together with their children has helped them build a stronger bond.
Vice president of The NPD Group commented:
“Toys and games have proven their value in 2020. As in other markets, Britons turned to toys and games to help fill the long weeks of lockdown. For the period of lockdown alone, sales rose by 15%. However, unit sales are down 9% for the first nine months of the year. As consumers have not been able to visit stores, sales of lower price point collectables have decreased in favour of ‘slow’ play toys such as those in this year’s DreamToys list”.
Another spokesperson added:
“Toys have been an important part of families’ lives during lockdown and we believe many on this list will put a well-deserved smile on kids’ faces this Christmas”.
